Christmas Trees
Oh my. Delft’s town center - the Markt - has got a Christmas tree. With 20 lamp bulbs. And nothing else…
It’s so sad.
Nobody ever thought about a wonderful, colored, joyful, merryful tree?? I mean, it’s not difficult…
Here on the left is a picture of the one in question (Delft - the markt) compared with the one in Strasbourg (place Kleber), on the right.
Kudos for the French city. Bwah for the Dutch one.
But there’s more… maybe in Delft they realized that such a ‘xmas’ tree wasn’t enough.
They made up in a Dutch way.
Here is (on the same square!!) a Christmas tree made of beer crates! Sponsor is the Brand Beer (of course) and the TUDelft (the university!!!), since such ‘artistic big gadget’ needed the architects from the Faculty of Architecture to become reality… I mean, when next friday night you’re biking home, would you stop by the center for a drink??

(on the left, full view of the tree, bigger than the normal xmas tree, and on the right, a detail, from which you can see it’s made of beer crates of 24 bottles…)
