Am I converted yet
As you are well aware, we recently purchased a small toy with intent of clearing up space in the house. See forums for what it was. After all was said and done, finally left with this

this constitutes the last 10 years worth of music (99% legal) and just surpasses the limit for small to large capacity (ripped in 192 aac format btw so can play it on the hifi).
+’s - did not know the dock had a dedicated line-out for undistorted sound.
aac is a much better lossy compressor than mp3
color screen is pretty sweet
HD capacity is nice
-’s - the scroll wheel is nice, but damn, its a chore finding songs when you don’t have playlists
i-tunes while simple, could have a bit more library options so its easier to browse the library
case scratches waaaaay too easily
synching operation between pod and comp is a pain when you have both shuffle and pod.
HD capacity begs to be filled with songs
got me wondering what my state of mind was when seeing some of the CD’s i had in my collection
so the question begs to be asked, am I a true ipod convert….
the story continues……..

Give us the dirt: what embarassing CDs did you find? Nsync? Modern Talking? Oh no, that was me

lets see there was the time of LaBouche, Corona, FYC:Raw and the Remixed!!!!
then there was the sensitive chapter : Donna Lewis, Melissa Bainbridge, Des’ress ….awww shucks.
then there was the death metal/electronica soundtracks : Mortal Kombat, Spawn (but the Crow is a good soundtrack though).
Then I got scared and started thinking, OMG, please don’t let there be a Spice Girls CD in there…safe except for the cyndi lauper and tina turner.
But also looking at some of Tone’s stuff, I realised I was not the only one.
But then when sitting and ripping up 10 Cd’s of Joe Satriani, and 5 of Johnny Clegg, plus 6 of Orbital made me feel a bit better about myself then. Then I got to Leftfield and was very happy, but was pissed that I’m missing my Crystal Method CD’s. STP, Dire Straights, Paul Simon, U2, Proclaimers, and Crash Test Dummies pretty much kept me from checking myself into Arkham.

and you still didn’t try the ipod socks! I think they’re the best (cheaper+cool) solution to carry it in a bag or pocket…

Satriani?! You never told me that! I actually saw him play life once. Boring as hell, but he’s one great player.
If you’d like to try something new, give Venetian Snares’ latest a try (Rossz something). It’s like Aphex Twin meets traditional Czech orchestral music. Mad. And so beautiful.

Uhm, it turns out to be Hungarian, not Czech. Sorry about that
I guess my geography skills are trying to match the standard US citizen’s.
If you want a snippet of the CD to get a feeling for it, let me know.
