Visiting up North, come prepared
Tone has a really cool website of her research work at www.urbandrainage.com (she’s working on the bioretention box). But what is really really cool, is the link to her realtime data. On that, you can see the weather conditions for Trondheim for the past week or so. As you can see, we’re rapidly approaching the winter zone.
For example, the image below gives us the air temperature. Last night, at the champions league game, it was pretty freaking cold at the stadium. Real Madrid is going to get a shock to their nuts when they come visit in November, I can tell you.

Nice site, Tone! (thanks for posting Chitti). Just to make it more personal, where is your guy’s apartment relative to the catchment, and how similar is the weather you see on a daily basis to what is recorded there?

The site is at a research station 3 km south east of the city center. We basically live in the city center. The site is slightly higher elevation so it might be 1/2 to 1 degree cooler up there but pretty much the same.

I see you’re at 5 degrees less than us, but is it sunny? here it’s terribly foggy… I really can’t imagine there’s a sky up there

There is a plot on the page called solar rad, that is solar radiation. It it maximum about 1300 but then there is always a bit of a reduction before reaching the surface so in the summer up here we get up to 900-1100 on super sunny days. Now a sunny day is 200-300 mW/cm2 so if you look at that you can get an estimate of cloud cover. Also if the relative humidity does not drop during the day, when the temp is not varying a great deal then it is cloudy.
