Stereotypes
Italians eat spaghetti and play mandolino. That’s a fact. I personally spend 4 meals per day eating bolognese (which in Italy is called RAGU’…) on vermicelli, and play every evening before going to sleep a bit of that funny instrument.
WRONG!
But it’s like this for every culture: how many times we heard prejudices and misconceptions about our own culture? And the knowledge we have about other people’s culture, is that completely true, or as well matter of a biased opinion?
Well, somebody took the time to make a research, and it came out with this singular map, where for every country he collected at least 3 major stereotypes…
The result is up there. Unfortunately in Italian, but you can guess many of these… or click on ‘more’ for a translation

France: love for their own food, spoil their dogs, romantics, sophisticated.
Spain: bloody, artistic soul, enjoy life.
Norway: parsimoniousness, they are open and like humor, love the fish.
Sweden: austherity, coffee drinkers, viking’s ships.
Germany: precise, love for beers, full of resources, punctuality.
Turkey: hospitality, use weapons.
Russia: brutality, passion, tough negociatiors, sentimentalism.
Mongolia: singing, malicious humor, patience.
China: wonderful recipes, courtesy, patience, copied products.
Japan: technology, longevity, courtesy, diplomacy.
Thailand: hospitality, fun, accomodating.
India: alimentary cheats, hospitality, tenacity.
Indonesia: suppress their emotions, massage techniques, hospitality, arts.
Australia: no frills, easy to make friends, directs, obsessionated by sports.
Iraq: spontaneous, braves, vendicatifs.
Ethiopia: big eyes, rock steady.
Kenya: metaphores, fast runners.
Malaysia: curry, warm people, hypocrits, creativity.
Libya: generous, good navigators.
South Africa: aggressives, serious workers, ingenuity.
