Introducing Vista 2.0

chronicles

30 mins to go, and Steve Jobs will introduce the brand new Apple’s operating system… and since the actual one, Tiger, is already containing all the ‘new’ features that Windows users will (one day) experience with (eventually) Vista, Mac OS X Leopard can only be comparable to a Vista 2.0!
This is a stolen image from the pavillion where the Apple WorldWideDeveloper Conference will start in 30 mins…

    Seems Interesting…
What is more insteresting is that this webpage crash almost every time… ?

The only function I see is time machine… Pretty cool, but dangerous in the same time… Some stuffs you don’t want to see anymore can be restored mrgreen
    And what about harddrive consumption???
For the rest of functions, I will try to see at home… But if it looks so interesting, I will make the step (Oh! A 13 Inches Mac for 1000 Euros…)

OT: well, I don’t know what’s going on, neither the guys at site5 (my hosting company) really understand… it’s linked to the blog, something gets stuck, but only once in a month… I thought is the paypal thingy or the weather module on the sidebar… anyway, ususally after gets better again.

For Leopard: consider that Time Machine it’s just an incremental backup on an external unit. Cora Animation finally makes good use of OpenGL, and Spaces it’s like multiple desktops. But the best features are not shown yet: everybody is talking about a tabbed finder (like browsing through your computer) with spotlight research and real time preview of the contents. Also, someone spoke about a new kind of data, not file, not folders, something in between, which contains association of data and that can be opened by different applications: each of them will open the right part of it… plus, the integrated virtualisation!

And all this will run on old machines too, G3 included!

I’m really curious about Vista now mrgreen

So you surely are the only one who is curious about vista… mrgreen

Thanks for explanation about time machine, it was easier to understand without a crash on the computer… And sound…

  6. Alberto Says:

ah, ok, I thought you were talking about albazilla’s site! apparently apple site was overloaded, even the streaming (delayed) of the keynote was so requested that the bandwidth wasn’t enough… I could only follow it today, 24 hrs. later 8O

Looks very nice. Being a windows user, this is what an operating system should be. Vista is something that I’m not looking forward to, as it would mean a brand new PC to get it to run decently, thus if I was going to change my OS, the upgrade would be the Mac OS, and Vista would purely be adopted if work were to upgrade their system.

I am seriously considering an iMac for home use (20″), but am also tempted by the little macbooks as well. But, as time will tell, this is an option for the future.
